NOTES

Solitary palm trunk. Height to 20 ft. Covered with fine brown fibers, closely woven at the top, bare, light gray at the bottom.  Slow-growing fan palm with leaves that are dark blue-green above and silver-colored below. This might be mis-identified and could be Schippia concolor.  Further investigation is needed to confirm its true identity.

GEOGRAPHIC REGION

South Florida, Southeast Mexico, Colombia and to the West Indies

NATIVE HABITAT

Its natural habitat is rocky, calcareous soil in coastal scrubland and hammock communities.
