As the name suggests, giganteum is a very large philodendron, with individual leaves reaching as much as 3′ across. Terrestrial or epipetric which simply means it is capable of growing on rocks or growing on larger trees that can carry its weight

Caribbean islands, the Greater Antilles including Puerto Rico throughout the Lesser Antilles into the northeastern portion of Venezuela

NATIVE HABITAT

Most occur in humid tropical forests, but also in swamps, on river banks, roadsides, and rock outcroppings
