NOTES

​A medium-to-large cycad, grows attractive stiff, upright leaves to 6+ feet long. Its overall shape resembles that of Dioon spinulosum but the leaf margins are smooth, only the petioles are covered with thorns.

GEOGRAPHIC REGION

Native to Honduras and Nicaragua

NATIVE HABITAT

This species is typically an understorey component of semi-deciduous tropical rain forest and is found on steep slopes and in canyons, but also grows on flat terrain.
