NOTES

Related to bromeliads with a spiraling growth habit, hence the name screw pine. This selection has a showy golden stripe down the leaf center leaf with a smooth edge. Eventually the plant can develop a trunk and get about 6' tall. It is similar to P. sanderi and P. veitchii, but both of these have spiny leaf margins. It has many thick stilt roots near the base which provide support as the plant grows top-heavy with leaves, fruit and branches.
