NOTES

An evergreen tree growing to 50 ft tall. It has palmately compound medium green leaves in groups of seven leaflets. It is usually multi-trunked, with small red flowers in compact umbels developing at the top of the tree radiating out like the tentacles of an octopus. The specific epithet actinophylla means "with radiating leaves"

Along stream banks, wet forests, sometimes epiphytic; at elevations up to 3000 ft.
