NOTES

Encephalartos senticosus is distinguished by its short, straight, keeled leaves often with re-curved tips and the lowermost 2-4 pairs of leaflets reducing to divided prickles with almost no bare petiole, and the lack of wool in its crown around newly emerging leaves.

GEOGRAPHIC REGION

Lebombo Mountains of Mozambique, Swaziland and the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa.

NATIVE HABITAT

This species is found on rocky slopes and forest ravines or on dry exposed cliffs in dry shrubby savanna along the Lebombo range.
