NOTES

An evergreen cycad with a subterranean caudex.  It usually has 2 - 6 erect or slightly recurved leaves, from 0.4 - 1.5 metres long, and a prickled petiole.  The stems are a source of starch that was once a staple food for many local peoples, it is little used nowadays.
